About Southern Traditional
A small home cattery in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, started to keep old-style Siamese around.

Why old-style Siamese
My love for these cats started at a young age. As an adult my Siamese grew old and died, and when I looked for more old-fashioned Siamese I could only find the wedge-headed Siamese that have become the new designer Siamese.
It took me a year to find an old-style kitten. In that time I decided I would never be without these cats again, so I became a breeder to preserve them.

How the kittens are raised
My cats and kittens are never in cages. My girls have their kittens in my bedroom, I'm by their side for the birth, and the kittens are imprinted at birth.
At three weeks they move to another room with a kitty pan and scratch poles to learn the litter pan and the cat tree. As they get older they meet the rest of the family, dogs and other cats, so they're well socialized.
They grow up to be people cats: talkative, on your lap and in the middle of whatever you're doing. They can live into their late teens, so plan on a long friendship.

Who I sell to
- I screen every buyer to make sure they're a good fit for one of my kittens.
- Every buyer signs a spay/neuter contract. Kittens are not sold with breeding rights.
- Send a copy of the vet bill after the spay or neuter, and I send the registration certificate (CFA or ACA).
- I do not sell kittens to anyone who plans to declaw.
Please don't declaw
Declawing is cruel and painful for a cat, both physically and emotionally. In the past I did Siamese rescue and saved many cats crippled by botched declaw surgery.
There are other ways to stop scratching. Soft Paws are little covers that go on each claw, developed by a veterinarian. A squirt bottle of water works well. Scat mats train a cat to stay off furniture, and I use them myself.
My guarantee to you
I guarantee that my kittens will be pre-spoiled, healthy and robust felines that will charm you and make you laugh, and grow to be beloved companions who will become a lifelong friend.
